One of my favorite movie theaters. In a good location, has plenty of parking space and has everything AMC has. Good quality and decent service. Won't be disappointed :-).
The economy movie ticket prices and concession options brought us out. The less than stellar seating may keep us away. This theater has not upgraded to the leather-like recliners as so many theaters have. Other Regal theaters have the better seating, it's time for Potomac Yards to improve as well.
We enjoy coming to this movie theatre. It is back behind the shopping area and at times can look a bit desolated. When it's crowded, the lines to purchase food/drink can move a bit slow, but all in all it's a decent theatre.
Each time I go here, I vow never to return. (I've been three times now) It's such a convenient location, but the whole theatre needs a revamp. The chairs are old and most of the squeak when people move, so you spend the entire movie hearing that obnoxious noise. On all three occasions the theatre has been littered with garbage from the showing before. Two weeks ago (it had rained heavily all morning) three ceiling tile had fallen in and water dripped freely on the stairs throughout the movie. (Mix the dripping water with the squeaky chairs.) Although I've read other's review of friendly service, this has not been my experience. They have been borderline rude, at best indifferent. In trying to order a beer, I've had to wait, and hold up the line, while they search for someone who is old enough to serve the beer. The third time it took so long I just gave up because I felt bad for the others waiting in line behind me. The bottom line is if this were a discount cinema, I might be more apt to overlook these issues, but to pay full price for a shabby experience is ridiculous. Even though it is within walking distance for me, I'll stick to my resolution and go somewhere else.
Be aware: This is a Cinemark company. This company donated to the Trump campaign, and is a Roy Moore big donor, and the company supports many right wing causes. (See Newsweek 11/13/17) It’s your choice but know where your money is going!
